WHERE DO WE OFFER THIS SERVICE?

This service is offered in most of London and across Kent.
In some London postcode areas we charge more to cover our additional travelling costs, see our map which shows our fixed fee rates across London.

WHAT WE WILL CHARGE

For acting as Building Owners Surveyor and preparing and issuing party wall notices and a Party Wall Award - the fee shown on our map which will be either £695, £795 or £795 plus VAT depending in location. This includes for no more than 7 hours of our time. Additional time will be billed at our standard hourly rate. We will provide a firm quote for our work before we start.
For preparing and issuing party wall notices and a second and other additional Party Wall Award to different neighbours, a discounted fee may be possible. Where we can mitigate costs we will.
For acting as Agreed Surveyor - an additional £100 plus VAT per Award in most cases
Land registry enquiry fees will be charged at £5 each

WHAT WE WILL DO

Collier Stevens Chartered Surveyors will, on your behalf, prepare and issue [or send to you to issue] Party Wall Notices as required under section 1, 3 or 6 of the Party Wall etc. Act. If we need to make enquiries at the Land Registry to confirm ownership details then each enquiry will be charged at £5.00 plus VAT per document.
The notices will be accompanied by an explanatory letter to your neighbour.
We will ask you for all necessary information, you may need to send us a drawing, we will not prepare drawings or undertake design work - this is your responsibility. If your scheme is not fully prepared or changes we may need to charge for additional time.
For excavation work if we do not have a drawing and section we cannot serve the notice.
You will need to send us a signed letter of authority to act before we can send notices, we shall send a copy to you for you to sign and return to us.
The notices will be prepared and signed by a professional and experienced Party Wall Surveyor.
If 14 days after the date of notice you or we have not heard from you neighbours then a dispute is deemed to have arisen and a Party Wall Agreement or Award will be required under the provisions of the Act. Your neighbours will need to appoint a surveyor.
At that stage we shall proceed as your surveyor to prepare that Agreement and liaise with next doors surveyor. Your will additionally be responsible for your neighbours costs which may be more than ours.
If additional involvement or attendance is required after the Award or Agreements are issued then our usual hourly rate will apply, we will confirm this with you before incurring costs.
The fee is valid for our acting as Building Owners Surveyor only, additional charges will apply for acting as Agreed Surveyor.
Your Party Wall Award, will be prepared, and signed by a professional and experienced Party Wall Surveyor.
The Party Wall Award is also referred to as the Party Wall Agreement within this offer.
Service only available for property, in London, Kent and parts of Essex, Surrey and E Sussex.
We reserve the right to amend the terms of this offer at any time.
